Privacy Policy

SnagNote ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the SnagNote iOS application and when you visit our website at snagnote.com. SnagNote is a property management and snag tracking tool designed for personal use. The app can be used entirely offline without an account, or with an optional account to enable cloud sync and collaboration features.

Without an account: All property data, rooms, snags, photos, and warranty details are stored locally on your device only. We collect nothing. With an optional account: If you choose to sign in, we collect: • Your email address, used solely for authentication • Property data, rooms, snags, and photos you create — stored securely in our cloud database to enable sync across devices and collaboration • Device push notification token, if you grant notification permission, used only to send you relevant in-app alerts We do not collect names, phone numbers, or payment information. We do not track user behaviour or use third-party analytics.

If you choose to upload photos (e.g. snag images or floor plans): • Without an account: photos are stored locally on your device only. • With an account: photos are uploaded to secure cloud storage to enable sync and sharing with collaborators. Photos are stored privately and are only accessible to you and any collaborators you have explicitly invited. You can delete images at any time within the app. Deleting an image removes it from both your device and the cloud.

SnagNote Pro users can invite others to collaborate on a property. When you invite someone: • Their email address is used to look up their account • They are granted access to the shared property's data only • You can remove collaborators at any time • Collaborators can remove themselves at any time Collaborators do not have access to any of your other properties or personal information beyond the property they have been invited to.

SnagNote offers optional Pro subscriptions. • All payments are processed securely by Apple via the App Store. • SnagNote does not receive or store your payment information. • Subscription status is managed through Apple's systems. We take the security of your data seriously. • Local data is protected by your device's built-in security (Face ID, passcode). • Cloud data is stored using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. • Security policies ensure users can only access their own data or data explicitly shared with them. • If you delete the app without an account, all local data is permanently removed. • If you delete your account, all cloud data associated with your account is permanently deleted.

SnagNote is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

You have full control over your data: • You may delete individual properties, rooms, snags, or photos at any time within the app. • You may delete your account from the Profile section of Settings, which permanently removes all your cloud data. • Without an account, you may remove all data by uninstalling the app. For any privacy-related requests or questions, contact us at support@snagnote.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in this section of the app with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

The SnagNote website (snagnote.com) uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics collects anonymised information including: • Pages visited and time spent on each page • General location (country or region, not precise location) • Device type, browser, and operating system • How you arrived at the site (e.g. search engine, direct link) This data is collected via cookies and is used solely to improve the website. We do not use it to identify individuals. Google's privacy policy applies to data collected by Google Analytics and is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The SnagNote website uses cookies solely for the purposes of Google Analytics as described above. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any other cookies for marketing purposes. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not affect your ability to browse the site, but will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit.

The SnagNote website does not have any account registration, contact forms, or other mechanisms that collect personal information. We do not store names, email addresses, or any other personal data from website visitors. If you contact us by email (e.g. via a mailto link), your email address and any information you include in your message are used only to respond to your enquiry.
